Subcomponent 3.2: -County Investments and Employment Programs Multi-community investments – Land-scape wide SLM investments, such as water harvesting and storage facilities and rehabilitation of degraded areas (e.g., water catchments, river banks, gullies, areas affected by landslides, and deforested/degraded lands); The main objective is to Offer Technical expertise in water harvesting and storage facilities in the multi-community investments Employment Program. The program targets off-season opportunities for VMGs and unemployed/out-of-school youth on the Cash-for-work opportunities in the construction of water pans Conducting this activity was to train and equip selected Community Driven Development Committee (CDDC) leaders and Agricultural Ward officers, all farmers field facilitators and selected youths on construction of water pans
The following were the expected outputs:
- All CDDC) leaders and Agricultural Ward project officers should be equipped with sufficient skills to help identify appropriate site and set-up rainwater harvesting structures (water-pan, water ways and soil conservation) and
- 120 water ponds established through the capacity building process.
